We have 3 main ways you can help out and get involved:
Organize an Event:
Do you have an idea for an event you’d like to organize and share with other JETs? (Such as a teatime/coffee chat, networking dinner, craft night, hike, museum trip, movie, or anything else you’re interested in?) We’d love to help you make that happen. Email us at officers@jetaaportland.com or visit our next chapter meeting to tell us about your ideas!
Support an Existing Event
Don’t have a lot of time to organize your own event, but still want to help out? We have many low-commitment opportunities where you can help support our existing events. Email us at officers@jetaaportland.com or visit our next chapter meeting to learn how you can help. Chapter meeting dates, as well as other events and calls for volunteers can be found in our newsletter–sign up below to get announcements sent to your inbox.
Write a Blog Post and Share Stories or Recommendations:
We want to give JETs a space to share their stories and favorite local Japanese-related places, as well as create a resource hub for all JETs and community members alike. Do you have a story from your JET experience that you’d like to share? Advice for future JETs? Recommendations for a Japanese restaurant or Japanese culture-related place/activity? Or perhaps even recommendations for locations in Japan you enjoyed. If you'd like to share it with the JET community, we'd love to hear it!
